No playing in the snow for me down here in the sunny south. Shoot, we are all shivering and complaining because the high today is going to be the high fifties.

Wish me luck...I'm off to try the third hairdresser in six months. My favorite, who cut and colored my hair for the last twenty years married really well and is off seeing the world. I just don't think it should be that hard to figure out what I want. I've even started sketching the front, back and sides. The other two both said "Oh sure...I know exactly what you want." And then......proceeded to do something not only different but something I really did not like. I gave both of those two chances each. I don't go for that three strike thing.

I wonder where Clay is right now? England seeing Hannah? Unicef trip Lord knows where? I sure would like to hear some news.

Categories: TV Biz

EW has learned exclusively that American Idol's season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken will participate in an acting challenge with the ladies -- and serve as a guest judge on the panel -- in an April episode of America's Next Top Model. Ciara will also stop by for a photo shoot that week but -- ah, who cares! Claymates set your Tivo now! The series' 12th cycle kicks off Feb. 25 on The CW.

A tv appearance to look forward to.

YAY – mgm pat, something to look forward to!!! A tour schedule/future plans would be nice, but this is good, too. BTW, I've been wondering where our lovely Jennifer is, too! I am missing her and hearing about Charlie - I hope all is well with them and that we hear from her soon!

Patti, I loved KC’s response to the “gay Clay” question, she really is a true friend to Clay!

Just wanted to let everyone know why I have been absent from the pages so much lately. My workload has quadrupled over the past six months or so – I work for a municipal water/wastewater authority, and we are in the very early stages of a $100+ million project which means lots and lots of paperwork/meetings/etc. I’m definitely not complaining as I happen to love my job, but it is exhausting – by the time I get home from work I am tired and after being on the computer all day, that’s pretty much the last place I care to be at night – besides which, my brain is pretty fried by the time I get home. Add to that a very schedule – this coming weekend will be the first since last October that I don’t have anything scheduled. I am really looking forward to some “downtime”. Oh, and we just added a new family “member, too, who’s required lots of attention. Her name is Sadie and she’s a three year old Australian Shepherd – a rescue dog who has had three owners in her three short years (we're number four). She’s very shy, but with lots of love and attention over the past three and half weeks that we’ve had her, has blossomed into a little sweetie.

Mary, I’m sure it’s been very exhausting for you trying to get back into the work routine; I hope everything is going well for you now.

Patti and Mary, I can relate to what you’re saying about your jobs/the economy – we just had a job opening for a clerk/teller in our front office. We received well over 100 résumés – probably closer to 150 – the majority of them were from people with college degrees – overqualified for a job requiring only a high school diploma. They ended up hiring the temp worker who has been filling in – she has a B.A. in Accounting and even though she’s overqualified, she is more than happy to have the job because it pays well, has decent benefits and no possibility of layoff (unless she’s like her predecessor who thought the rules didn’t apply to her)!

Tomorrow night I’m going to see my “old” boyfriends Air Supply. Last August I saw they were going to be at the Kirby Center in W-B (where “our” boyfriend has been a couple times), so I got a couple tickets. I’m going with my SIL – we have pretty decent seats – seventh row, left center. Can’t wait to see them – I followed them back in the eighties and saw them several times in concert – I dragged anyone and everyone who would go with me. One of my coworkers was a fan, too, one time we took one of our bosses (a guy) to a concert and even got my hubby to go with us once.

Okay, gotta get back to work!

Much love and huge hugs to all…………..

Hey our Leader is back! Hi Cheyanne! Enjoy the show! Speaking of our dear Jennifer, where the heck has Pat been? The funniest women I know! Hope she is okay I have emailed her a couple of times but no answer.......where are you Pat?

Saw that "supposedly" he was at a restaurant in Baltimore on Sunday. Seems to be hanging in the Washington area a bit. Maybe he was called to Washington because of the petition he started. I still remember when he was touring with Idol and he stopped in DC and made a plea to congress for special needs children. What a guy!

A few "hotties" on Idol this year with good voices. But hey they aren't Clay..I don't care how cute they are or how good they sing....he's my hero in so many ways!

Signing off..........

Edit..quite a stir if it was really Clay in Baltimore because he ate crab! Is he allergic to crab..that is the burning question! Ha Ha

I'm kind of intrigued not only by his choice of eating establishments, but the fact that Super Bowl was mentioned. Isn't he the anti-sports guy?

and you know what? I was interested to know that I went to elementary school with the owner of that restaurant. Shame I wasn't able to use that influence and be there that night..

Okay....People who have allergies to shellfish usually have an allergic reaction to clams, lobster and/or shrimp....
Those are the main three.....plus you can be allergic to one and not the two others.
and.......some people who have mild reactions can control it by taking medications before eating. But he may/may not have a reaction to crab, but to all other shellfish....

...if I recall I think he was eating Crab in the MoRocca video, which by the way was hilarious and I must watch it again!

Hmmm I wonder what kind of acting with the models...this is going to be interesting!!!

But who am I to talk: I'm allergic to chocolate!

Hi everyone Smile

No worries, I'm here. I've just been lurking a lot.
Charlie is doing great. Happy and healthy and came home today to tell me he has a new girlfriend! *insert Mommy sigh here*

The snow has been unbelievable here, which I'm sure it's been just as bad in PA.

Anyway, my sister, her husband, and my two nieces are going to Grove City in April. Are the stores open during Easter holidays? Good Friday and Easter Sunday, etc? Could someone let me know please? Thanks ladies!

Hope everyone is good!
Love and miss ya lots!

*****Furiously waving to Jennifer & Cheyanne - glad you stopped by! Been missing you both tons & tons!!!*******

Cheyanne....I could quote your entire post about your job and being exhausted in the evenings and not wanting to sit at a computer after a full day of it.....and you would be me. It's been hectic for months now, and yet I don't want to complain because I know how very fortunate I am to be at a place where my job is secure. We are a community, mutually funded bank - so no take overs or buy outs are on the horizon - and since the department I head up is Electronic Banking, which is what banking will be all about in the future, I'm safe. My heart goes out to all those who are in limbo at work (hugs to Mary here) and to all those who are unemployed. I count my blessings.

Heading off tomorrow for a long weekend to visit Maya at college and Graham and his wife in MA. More blessings - my two wonderful children. Now if only Clay would make some sort of announcement concerning his career, my life would be complete. But please - no more personal life type announcements. My heart can't take the strain....I'm still digesting all the news of 2008! I just want to hear him sing, sing, sing, and yes, sing. Smile

My personal feeling about the supposed Clay sighting in a Baltimore restaurant is that it didn't happen. I've never heard of the restaurant (which doesn't mean it's bad...I've just never heard anyone raving about it). Then there is the shellfish thing. And truthfully...if I was Clay, and wanted to watch the SuperBowl...I doubt that I'd pick to watch it in a restaurant with a group of strangers. I think it is much more likely that Matt a.k.a. Clay Faiken was there, since he lives here in the Baltimore area...actually not too far from where I live. I once ran into him at a drive in movie and chatted with him. It was a few years ago, right after Clay's appearance on Idol with the "new" hairstyle...because Matt commented that he hoped Clay didn't keep it, since his own hair was still in the spiked style.

Mary, I think your explanation sounds very likely. Wouldn't that be funny?

I don't remember anything about a shellfish allergy. Just the nuts and caffine.

Hi Jennifer! Where is Grove City?

ANTM sounds like a fun show, although I've never seen it. Wonder what Clay will be doing?

Can you believe that today I shoveled our driveway, sidewalks, steps and cleaned off the car, and as soon as I was done our son showed up with his snow blower?

Stop laughing, Pat.

I just called my former classmate at that restaurant in Baltimore--we had a great conversation--but he said he was certain it was Clay there, with somebody from AI who was touring and had a venue in Baltimore. He didn't know who THAT person was but he knew that Clay was in this group.

Interesting!!

Taylor Hicks is performing in Grease in Baltimore. I don't quite see Clay and Taylor hooking up...but I guess you never know. Maybe being an alum of AI is like a club...and you feel a connection to all of them.

Penny, great information. Now, all you need to do is check every venue in the surrounding area and then find out which AI performer was appearing and then find out how close he/she and Clay are and then why were they sharing the Super Bowl together. Were they talking about some future plan? Or tour? Or tv show? Or Simon Cowell? Inquiring minds want, nay need to know!!

You see, you go and try to do a good deed but then it never ends. Ha! It is interesting, though. Thanks for sharing.

Oops, while I was typing this I see Mary answered part of my question. I can see Clay and Taylor having a lot to talk about how AI and their partners in crime did their best to sabotage both of their careers
